Aircraft Certification & Aviation Consultants
One of ATAD's core activities as Aviation Consultants is the support and approval of type designs for certification projects. We help applicants with the "showing" and "finding" of compliance were delegated by the FAA. FAA DERs make FAA approvals on behalf of the FAA, greatly reducing the time it takes to get approvals. Our FAA Consultant DERs bring a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and insight on certification requirements and can be a valuable asset to the program long before certification testing and approval submittals begin. This includes existing or past certification basis projects as well as keeping tabs on trends and changes that might affect programs in the early stages. This can help clients be prepared for the changes anticipated in the coming years. Our specialty areas are Mechanical Systems, Powerplant Installations, and Structures. ATAD supports work on Electrical Systems, Aerodynamics, System Safety, and the increasing emphasis on design assurance aspects to support a complete certification effort. Additionally, we support the required work and preparation of Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA), as well as other manuals such as Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC), Maintenance Manual (MM), and more.
We also have inhouse FAA Management DERs to manage certification activities towards approval. Whether preparing Certification Plans, Compliance Reports, issuing Requests for Conformity, Test Plans, Test Reports, TIA's, witnessing testing and approval of the needed type data, we are experienced in the complete process for certification. ATAD has the FAA delegated experts to help. ATAD is experienced in STCs and supporting data approvals for Major Alterations and Repairs (Form 337 Field Approvals).
ATAD also works with several ODA's and has many existing processes in place to work either standard certification or ODA certification projects.

Program Management (PMO)
With more than 23 years and over 75 major projects and aircraft models under our belts, we have learned many of the golden nuggets of program management and the vehicle design process. We scale our tools and work to match the projects we're assigned. From small projects requiring minimal process control but benefiting from a seasoned Project Manager or Project Engineer, to large programs requiring the full V&V process using tools such as a Gated Process, PM Tool suits, Requirement Management tools such as DOORs, Design Assurance SAE ARP 4754, etc. We work both civilian and military projects and their unique needs for cert/qual.
